At Precious Momentz Child Care in Queanbeyan, our Infants program caters to children aged 6 weeks to 2 years. We understand the importance of consistency between home and the centre and work collaboratively with parents to develop routines that provide predictability and security for the child. We focus on building secure emotional attachments and relationships between children, families, and educators. Our facility nurtures children's growth in a safe and healthy environment that encourages them to explore, learn and grow at their rate. Our educational program offers flexibility for kids to become independent learners with the help of positive motivation from educators. Establishing relationships between families and teachers is vital to providing every child with a solid basis for learning development.

DAILY ROUTINES

We aim to follow each child’s home routine as closely as possible. Nappy changes are checked every hour and changed as required - with routine checks made before all meals, plus before and after sleeps. All information about your child’s feeding, sleeping and toileting is recorded on a whiteboard daily. Educators will also communicate with all Families on arrival and departure each day.

The Children in the Nursery spend most of the day in their room, with outside play included. Before 8:15 am of the morning and after 5:15 pm, the children move into the Toddler Room for family group time. This time is flexible.

The Nursery program offers children a wide range of experiences and activities that cater for all aspects of each child’s development – Physical (large and small muscle), Social, Emotional, Intellectual / Cognitive, Fine Motor / Manipulative (small muscle) and Language (expressive and receptive). Every child attending the Service is observed for developmental purposes and experiences are planned to further extend and refine all skill areas.
